Please not that current OSS - both from [community] and AUR - does not work. See the bug report for details: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35672

OSS switched from Mercurial to Git: http://sourceforge.net/p/opensound/mailman/message/30289839/

The Git repo also has the patches for linux-3.8 and later.

This sound system is underestimated, it has a very good quality with intel hdaudio (ich9), build newer 910-1 instead. Pre mixing makes pulseaudio and other wrappers useless. It's very lightweight too. I'm still having problems with jackd in full fuplex, works in playback only (due to jack team poor support).
