Sure, here you go. I'm using the Surface Pro 4. It appears from the logs that it is at least attempting to load in IPTS.

dmesg for linux-surface4: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4rf1m1fcgzljw35/dmesg-sp4.txt?dl=0
dmesg for linux-lts-sp4 (with working touchscreen): https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztgr5gpx8l8n7fu/dmesg-lts-sp4.txt?dl=0

Hmmm. I'm not sure.

Could you provide dmesg logs?

Is IPTS loading when you boot? Also are you using the surface book or the surface pro 4?

StupidBunny commented on 2017-08-25 04:36

@shadoukun My touchscreen isn't working when I boot this. Is it necessary to manually build the kernel per the instructions on the link you posted? I have all the firmware files in place and, indeed, when I boot the linux-lts-surface4 kernel I have a working touchscreen.

Updated to 4.12.8.

To get the touchscreen to work, you need the firmware files from Windows.

Follow the instructions under 'Firmware' at https://github.com/ipts-linux-org/ipts-linux-new/wiki

does the touchscreen Works in this kernel?

SuperBo commented on 2017-04-13 14:32

Touch and pen will not work in this kernel because I don't include touch patches in this kernel. Tomorrow I will push new version of linux-lts-surface4. You can try that version if you want touch function.

StupidBunny commented on 2017-04-12 20:23

@hnzjo Do I have to rebuild the kernel at all to make this work? I still don't have touch/pen working and I notice the Debian-specific instructions you link to require that early on, but then, this is a specialized kernel to begin with.

hnzjo commented on 2017-04-12 16:41

@alexis6307 you have to import the gpg keys!

# gpg --recv-key 79BE3E4300411886
# gpg --recv-key 38DBBDC86092693E

for touch support i have uploaded the blobs:

https://github.com/jvarg/surfacepro4-touchscreen-blobs-linux.git

I have it freshly installed. Works as well as the LTS kernel so far, can leave Xorg without the black screen of death. However, the type cover once detached doesn't seem to work when I reattach it, which it does in the LTS version. I still haven't got sleep/suspend working properly in either though I'm still figuring out how to do that properly.

Have you got touch support in this kernel yet? Most custom kernels I've found/built which allow touch require bringing in the drivers manually from the Windows partition, so I wasn't sure if there was extra post-installation work required to make this go or if you just hadn't implemented it yet.

Hi! Yaourt throws an error when try to install:
It's in Spanish but I think its comprehensible:
