I have a Ryzen 7 2700u hp envy x360. Is this out of date? What should I be using.

@txtsd done.

Iported the changes from linux-amd-staging-drm-next-git, but I fail to see which of those were actually from linux-git? I haven't seen anything worth "porting" from that package (the issue with the headers was arleady fixed).

@ssorgatem Can you pull the new PKGBUILD changes from linux-amd-staging-drm-next-git which itself just merged some changes from linux-git's PKGBUILD?

@ssorgatem It has a slightly different source linked ("git://") but I just modified its pkgbuild and it does the trick for me.

Thank you for the quick update! This is the first custom kernel that's usable on my Ryzen envy x360

ssorgatem commented on 2018-03-15 17:09

But there's already ...?

aufkrawall commented on 2018-03-15 16:15

I'm using this kernel on Intel CPU because of drm-next-4.17-wip functionality. Would it be possible to only set the flags automatically when an Intel CPU is detected?

Spectre v2 is not an major issue for AMD, They have issued optional code though if you want to add it

ssorgatem commented on 2018-03-15 15:34

Mmm, so are ryzen chips affected by Spectre v2 even after microcode updates? It's all been a bit confusing.

I don't remember disabling or changign fromd efault anything related to namespaces. I don't even know how to enable that...

aufkrawall commented on 2018-03-15 15:22

ssorgatem, could you please check some security flags? Compiled kernel is vulnerable to Spectre variant 2 and Firefox doesn't report user namespaces (4.16 mainline does).
