Important: this package will be building the latest revision of the current patchlevel. This is now correctly named and doesn't necessarily represent the linux-nitrous or binary version as this builds from HEAD of v<current version>+ and the other ones don't.

Still some issues;

1) build time reduced to about 1 hour, however the resulting pkg is unbootable. Just a black screen.

2) pkg size is quite large, 21mb vs just 9 with linux-ck

3) during build it asked me twice to select certain modules

3) when installing the pkg it pulls in linux-firmware. Why? Never need that pkg with any of the other kernels I've compiled.

superboringdev commented on 2020-08-14 18:20

ngl it really sucks to recompile everything when building on the machine you want to use it on.

I always build the kernel on a different machine and upload it to a custom repository: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Unofficial_user_repositories#linux-nitrous

Indeed, 'cause of all the unnecessary modules.

You ran out of space.

Thanks, I will try the updated PKGBUILD asap.

This might have been a mistake on my side... Please try again, I've updated the PKGBUILD.

Apologies for my very late reply, however I do not believe that modproded fix is working as intended. Still in the process of compiling after 2+ hours (compared to linux-ck which takes 10/15m). Seeing lots of unnecessary module names popping up in /tmp. Will report back when compilation is finally completed.

@superboringdev Everything built and installed correctly. Thank you!

superboringdev commented on 2020-07-17 07:06

Should work now.

superboringdev commented on 2020-07-17 05:08

@windsorHaze thank you for reporting that issue, I will fix it as soon as possible.
