I've updated this for Houdini 16 but because PySide2 currently doesn't install, I have a hacky setup where I've downloaded and unpacked python2-pyqt5, pyqt5-common, and python2-sip from here ( I've then edited /opt/houdini/houdini/python2.7libs/hutil/ line 318 from "if preferred:" to "if False:" to get houdini to try using PyQt5 instead of just PySide2. Finally I run houdini with `PYTHONPATH=</path/to/unpacked/pyqt/stuff>/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/ /opt/houdini/bin/houdini`.

Change the line install=('houdini.install') by install='houdini.install' in PKGBUILD

abrasmelin commented on 2016-02-21 00:17

doesnt work. it gives me

==> ERROR: install should not be an array
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build houdini.

error during installation. can you please fix this?

Should be fixed now?

ParadoxSpiral commented on 2015-05-29 06:21

The python dependencies should be fixed, notify me if I missed some.

If needs be, for now you can get makepkg build to not build hqueue-server using eg: makepkg --pkg houdini houdini-maya-engine

after removing 'file://' from the PKGBLD, everything installs fine now except for hqueue server, as some of its python dependencies fail upon install (I know these are not your packages)

AWhetter commented on 2015-04-20 14:34

I've just uploaded a fix. I don't have time to test if hqueue server is working right now but I'll look at it some time soon.

mills.sean commented on 2015-04-19 19:42

I'm able to get through most of the build, but once it get's to the hqueue-server section it fails because it cannot find
"/houdini/pkg/hqueue-server/opt/hqueue/scripts/hqserverd: No such file or directory"

prior to /houdini/ being my home directory where I'm doing the build.
There is a /houdini/pkg/hqueue-server/opt/hqueue-server/scripts/hqservered file however. Updating the PKGBUILD to reflect that seems to fix that, but then later in the hqueue-server build "/cp: target ‘/home/sean/houdini/pkg/hqueue-server/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/’ is not a directory"

I checked and this directory is never created.
Can you update this, or post a fix?

I've just adopted this package. I hope to get the PKGBUILD I pasted below tidied up and the package updated in the next few days.
