Adopting package and updating to 3.4.11

galaux commented on 2017-11-26 18:12

Ok. Orphaning then (I was asking because it seems me orphaning it also removes you).

nutz commented on 2017-11-26 17:41

Hey galaux,

sorry I was away for a few days.

Hm - sadly I'm also not really using it at the moment, so orphaning it is also okay for me.

Maybe Gorden, the flagger can take it

galaux commented on 2017-11-19 20:13

I am going to orphan this package. Nutz: are you still interested in maintaining it?

@camio ,

I also just removed myself as maintainer, because I am not really doing a great job of maintaining it now that my work doesn't require it :)

benjumanji, add me to the maintainers if you like; I can try and also update the package when the need arises.

When running zookeeper via zookeeper@kafka.service, the log directory is not writeable because it is created as "kafka:kafka":
# ls -alh /var/log/zookeeper
total 260K
drwxr-xr-x 1 zookeeper log 56 Jan 22 18:06 .
drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 848 Mar 18 00:00 ..
drwxr-xr-x 1 kafka kafka 26 Dec 20 17:50 zookeeper-kafka
-rw-r--r-- 1 zookeeper zookeeper 260K Feb 1 09:51 zookeeper.log
Of course, that's fixed easily enough, but thought you might want to know.

This package currently doesn't build and install the 'c' libraries included with this package. I was able to make it do that by modifying depends to this,

depends=('java-runtime' 'gcc-libs' 'glibc')

, adding this,

, adding a new build function,

build() {
cd "${srcdir}/${pkgname}-${pkgver}/src/c"
autoreconf -if
./configure --prefix=/usr

, and putting these lines at the end of the package function,

cd src/c
make DESTDIR="$pkgdir" install
