If anybody knows the solution adopt the package.

It`s necessary apply 2 patches. http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6663 and http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5754.
I can`t apply this patches together. Sorry.

exo-mount was removed from exo
when automounting disable, there is error if using places to mount:
Failed to execute child process "exo-mount" (No such file or directory).

and places menu sometimes appearing on different position (panel on the bottom, menu on the top) causing confusion. after panel restart its ok

places is one of key elements of xfce (for me)

When user is behind http proxy the following:
git clone git://git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-places-plugin
does not work, ignoring http_proxy variable.

Have changed it to http://git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-places-plugin
Seems it does not really matter for git utility, but in the second case it respects http_proxy variable and works correctly.

@hellpe

I have been trying to apply the patch for 2 hours. I`m not successful.
If anybody wants to adopt this package I will disown it.

I can apply the patch on version 1.2.0 but then I can`t compile it.

If you can't see your removable media with this, it's because it needs Thunar-VFS (and HAL).
Since it's been deprecied in Xfce 4.8, you'll need to apply this patch : http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6663

@phillipe

thx for comment.

Fixed.

Mezcal, I had this error while trying to install the package:

"/tmp/yaourt-tmp-phillipe/aur-xfce4-places-plugin/PKGBUILD: line 38: /tmp/yaourt-tmp-phillipe/aur-xfce4-places-plugin/attachment.cgi?id=3336: Arquivo ou diretório não encontrado"

Modify the line 38 of the PKGBUILD...
from: patch -Np1 < $startdir/attachment.cgi\?id\=3336
to: patch -Np1 < ${srcdir}/attachment.cgi\?id\=3336
And the problem will be solved. ;)
