Hey B,

which one is correct now, 766 or 768?

Could you add a line for 766 px height in Xresources as well?

This works nicely for me:

#elif ( HEIGHT == 768 )
# define LOGIN_POS_Y 520

Thanks :)

Ok, that sounds reasonable. Thanks for taking your time to explain. So, as long
as xorg-utils still conflicts with xorg-xwininfo I'll keep the latter as
dependency. As far as I could see, the other packages don't conflict in the same
way, so I'll keep them the way they are.

Foucoult already referred to those posts, but thanks for pointing out anyway.

Maybe you guys should read these mails on the mailing list arch-dev-public:

Obviously, the PKGBUILD works if you remove xorg-utils. The thing is, currently, some of the xorg-utils programs are provided by both xorg-utils and several other split packages. Since, probably most users have already xorg-utils installed I thought it would be more logical to stick to the older package instead of running to a similar conflict. I don't know why the packages are like that currently in [extra] and I'm in no position to judge this. However, I believe it would be wiser to try to adapt AUR PKGBUILDs to the current state of the repositories. xorg-utils is *still* required by a couple official packages None requires xorg-xwininfo. Since one has to remove xorg-utils to install xorg-xwininfo (since they conflict) they will have to remove all packages that depend upon xorg-utils (including kdebase-workspace!). If you don't want to change the PKGBUILD it's fine, but if someone needs xorg-utils as a dependency for another package MUST edit the xorg-xwininfo part out and replace it with xorg-utils.

Just my input. Take it, or leave it :P

Now I'm confused... why would an Arch dev commit an unfinished change to the
stable repository? Bad dev! :P

Well, I tested the PKGBUILD and it worked for me, so can you two by any chance
see if 'pacman -Rsc xdm-arch-theme', 'pacman -Sy' and reinstalling
xdm-arch-theme helps? I wouldn't want to change the PKGBUILD back as a
work-around if it's the repo which is wrong and not the PKGBUILD...

I believe the xwininfo dependency should not be updated yet, since the transition is not completed as stated here: . At least for now, I think it's better to have xorg-utils instead of xorg-xwininfo.
