Alright, for newcomers, this is how ut2004 should be installed:

1: Download ut2004 from GOG(the exe and bin file)

2: Launch ut2004-gog with the exe as parameter(i.e ut2004-gog setup.exe)

3: It will create a wine prefix, then launch the installer

4: Click on install (leave installer on the default settings)

5: Then let it move the files, extract the patch, install the patch and clean up

6: After all that it should launch successfully

This is a 1 time install process, after all that, you can launch ut2004 by just running ut2004-gog

@lazycrypt well, since GOG has Windows installers, it's never gonna be ideal, I did it this way because this is easily fixable(i.e when something breaks, you can just remove '~/.local/share/ut2004-gog' and it'll work)

if you have any other suggestions/issues, post them on the github page please.

@tim241 I just tried this and while it works using Wine seems messy (I kept getting runtime errors and the wineprefix wouldn't get removed after installation). I would suggest using Innoextract and then moving the extracted files to /opt.
