@johanc5 Thanks! Fixed now.

Hi! Thank you for providing this, however, I did notice a small mistake. The package should list "go" as a dependency, I did not have that installed yet and it caused a build error.

Thanks!

A few notes:

  • Bump the pkgrel only if there's a need to rebuild the package

  • conflicts() and provides() here are superfluous. Only up-git and such should conflict with up

  • Please use a package-specific name for the source, eg.: source=("up-$pkgver.tar.gz::$url/archive/v$pkgver.tar.gz")

  • The tar command is superfluous as the sources are automatically extracted

Perfect, now up builds from the latest release. :)

up-git builds from the latest commit; up should build from the latest release.

@polyzen Sorry, I thought the convention was that since the binary was the official release on the github (and because go-lang compiles to a static binary) that there should be an up package that distributes this binary, and the up-git package should contain the source-built version.

Should it be the case that there is up-git and up-bin, but no up?

polyzen commented on 2018-10-24 22:56

Considering this is a binary package (uses a pre-built binary), this should be renamed to up-bin.
