PSA: If you get a "Failed to handle push message" notification, do the following:

Close Tutanota and delete ~/.config/tutanota-desktop/conf.json.

Seems like some folks are having issues building the -2 update posted earlier: https://reddit.com/r/tutanota/comments/j1o6ol/attempted_build_of_desktop_app_from_aur_errors_out/

It's not electron 9 that's the problem. I was running linux-git-5.8rc3.r0.g9ebcfadb0610-1 but rebooting on 5.7.7 fixes it. Not sure what the problem is there but at least it's working now for me.

I think the problem is with electron 9. It seems similar to https://github.com/tutao/tutanota/issues/1806

Still a problem for me with a clean build :/

yochananmarqos commented on 2020-07-02 15:12

@HarlemSquirrel: I can't reproduce that. Try a clean build.

Seems to be broken for me today.

I noticed this when running tutanota-desktop from the terminal:

[2020-07-02T00:07:54.561Z] startFile:  file:///opt/tutanota-desktop/resources/app.asar/desktop.html
../../sandbox/linux/seccomp-bpf-helpers/sigsys_handlers.cc:**CRASHING**:seccomp-bpf failure in syscall 0072

@ArchBoxHero glad to hear it!

Ahh @ajgraves, thanks for the quick response(and solution). You are right. I am cloning and building it again now from scratch. I couldn't get the latest changes with a git pull for some reason. I'm launching it via rofi running I3wm btw. Its been so long since I've tinkered with/installed it that I forgot how I set it up. But its working now.

@ArchBoxHero 3.73.1 is the most up to date version of Tutanota. How are you launching the app? I've seen that people who have this problem typically have an older version of the Tutanota appimage somewhere on their system that is being launched instead of the newest version.

Hey what's the status with an update on this package? I'm getting a login error reading: "Please update Tutanota. The currently installed version is too old and not supported any longer." And what can I do to help if anything? I need to get a little more involved and help out in this community if I can.
