The md5sum needs to be updated.

Hi, can you add the non-CJK version and add provides=(noto-fonts) in PKGBUILD? I don't want duplicate fonts installed in my system.

OK, So I spoke with arojas, and he explained that both packages can coexist. Another difference between the packages is that we're providing the current checkout of the repo, while the package in [extra] uses a fixed tag. That being the case, he suggested perhaps updated the package name to something like ttf-noto-git. I'll discuss this now with taylorchu to see where we'll go from here.

I'm afraid this is still required, or something needs to be changed...

The source of this packages provides CJK fonts in OTF format, yet the community CJK package bundles all variants (SC, TC, JP, KR, etc.) by weight into seven TTC files. This is causing problems in Chromium because skia does not seem to be able to correctly handle TTC fonts, so fallback is broken sometimes.

It looks like it was added a couple of days ago to the community repo due to it being required by Plasma 5.5. The AUR package may no longer be required. I've contacted the maintainer of the community repo package and will report back.

Any difference between this and community/noto-fonts-* ?

EDIT: To answer my own question, this package is based on fonts released on Google Noto Fonts page, and community packages are based on googlei18n github project archive.

Is there any difference between these two sources?

The new source URL is https://noto-website-2.storage.googleapis.com/pkgs/Noto-hinted.zip

It is different (newer) than the current one.
