Is it possible that you're trying to run the tryton client with python 3? That's how I managed to reproduce the error.

Also, when tried to compile it using the tarball and pkgbuild, when i did:

$ makepkg -g

Ive got an error which says that tryton.desktop wasnt found in the compilation directory, and it is not an URL.

Ive got the following errors when trying to run the client:
