If you want a stable experience, please stick to the stable releases.

does this have antything to do with my network blocking tor network?

you might have started compiling when changes were still being committed, the tests ran fine for me just now.

That pkgver function doesn't work. Since the only thing that changes with each commit is the hash, each one could be seen as either an upgrade or a downgrade. You need to include something that goes up every time like git rev-list --count
