I'm trying to update beamer locally, but this causes it to try to remove texlive-core, which is obviously not a good idea. How do I fix this?

Is something wrong with the git url? I can't clone the repo from here: "git://".
If in the PKGBUILD I replace the url with "", I get an error on line 27 of the PKGBUILD involving a cd into a non-existing directory.

Is it possible to configure this package to work behind a proxy? The system is configured properly, the relevant environment variables are set, but with tllocalmgr all I’m getting is this:

% tllocalmgr status
Retrieving new TeXLive database from CTAN...
could not fetch :
500 Can't connect to at /usr/bin/tllocalmgr line 93.

It seems "perl-term-readline-gnu" is not needed as a dependency. (Or rather, it was giving me the issue "Cannot initialize Term:ReadLine:Gnu" until I removed it.)

I have same issue with the message

Can't get object for collection-genericrecommended at /usr/bin/tllocalmgr line 107.

Just do a reinstall, it will get the latest code from git, then the issue will be resolved.

I'm getting this warning when I `latexmk -C`

Latexmk: This is Latexmk, John Collins, 19 Jan. 2017, version: 4.52c.
File::Glob::glob() will disappear in perl 5.30. Use File::Glob::bsd_glob() instead. at /usr/bin/latexmk line 7806.

Well if this has to be changed to fit into the new organisation; would it possible to have an update-all function; it's a pain to have to manually update all packages.

Texlive 2017 introduces a number of changes in package organisation.
I advise to wait a bit before using localmanager.

Encountered the same problem as one of the comments. I have installed the latest version texlive-localmanager-git-0.5.1.r0.g6befd1e-1

$ tllocalmgr
Initializing ...
Can't get object for collection-genericrecommended at /usr/bin/tllocalmgr line 107.

$ tllocalmgr -v

tllocalmgr: version 0.5.1

Thanks for your work on this, I've been using it for years to maintain my tex library.

Feature request:
It would be nice to have an `update all` and/or `update local` options.
