The pkgver() fuction should probably look like

pkgver() {
  cd ${_gitname:-$pkgname}
  git describe --long | sed 's/\([^-]*-g\)/r\1/;s/-/./g'

Since the update to pacman 5.2, the package fails to build, failing at the pkgver() stage. No further error message is given to hint what the problem might be.

Isn't this supposed to not conflict with the texlive packages in the official repos? I'm trying to install mlacls and it is saying it conflicts with texlive-publishers>=2018.51865

I sort of got it to work. Update texlive-tlpdb (AUR) and copy that file

sudo cp /usr/share/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb /var/lib/texmf/arch/installedpkgs/texlive-tlpdb_2019-2.pkgs

"update" and "search" now show a message:

Use of uninitialized value in numeric lt (<) at /usr/bin/tllocalmgr line 229. Argument "2019-2" isn't numeric in numeric lt (<) at /usr/bin/tllocalmgr line 229.

texlive-localmanager stopped working for me, with this error:

"Cannot open /var/lib/texmf/arch/installedpkgs/texlive-tlpdb_2019-2.pkgs"

I don't understand how to create-, or where to find that absent file. I tried running fmtutil-sys --all and texhash, to no avail. Any advice?

I've tried to contact the author Rémy Oudompheng on the 5th of April via twitter asking to remove --clean from "makepkg -ic" because I need .PKGINFO to exist. I know it's not the most appropriate way to reach out, does anyone know his email? Is there an issue tracker on

Have been trying to install biber using tllocalmgr, but the issue is it will install a blank.

The only thing in the tarball is the tlpkg directory the PKGBUILD deletes immediately.

biber contains binaries (as well as documentation and source)

Is there a way to make custom rules for packages like this; such that it correctly extracts the tarball biber-linux_x86_64.tar.gz to /usr/local/share/texmf/scripts/biber

Since the current maintainer seens unresponsive, and the package has not been updated in ages, I suggest someone request this package to be orphaned and eventually take over it.

@XZS Could you please update this package to the latest version? Thanks in advance :)

If you are getting the following error: "Error: command install is not defined" here is the fix I found:

I was installing fullpage. This turns out ( to not be a real package but rather part of preprint ( So I ran instead tllocalmgr. Then in the REPL run install preprint then texhash.

Hope this helps guys!

Hi, I'm also getting this same error "Error: command install is not defined". Is there any fix that I could do?
