Thanks for reporting that. This is indeed a bug with the package.

You can work around this by creating these three groups before the build:

sudo groupadd -r stapusr ; sudo groupadd -r stapsys ; sudo groupadd -r stapdev

I also realize now that this package is missing a post_remove() script to remove the groups. Looking into a fix for both...

I have dropped the package due to missing time. Feel free to adopt it and fix the bugs.

Concurring with kevlar1818: Build is failing. Output at https://pastebin.com/n920TVw0

The build step is failing due to "all warnings being treated as errors":

In file included from ./includes/stap-probe.h:3, from main.cxx:39: ./includes/sys/sdt.h:123:75: error: type qualifiers ignored on cast result type [-Werror=ignored-qualifiers]

systemtap has a bug running on Linux kernel > 4.15, the error is like: implicit declaration of function ‘init_timer’.

There is a fix in upstream: https://sourceware.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=systemtap.git;a=commitdiff;h=fbb26e17a

And here's a quick patch I made to PKGBUILD to apply this fix that work on my side (with linux-zen 4.16.4): https://gist.github.com/AstroProfundis/d9414d2eac27102b77bf9b414c569a31

Granular:

Yes. This did work for me. Thx

I'm also having a problem with the public key. gpg --recv-key didn't work. No ultimately trusted keys found.

I didn't know that so much people use systemtap with arch linux :D

wrong sha512sum in PKGBUILD, should be

1d2758e9f875e06d08d37679587454fb43e025aa83ceeb405b1bc8d3277476502f2d67cf9e8383cc4c63ae545d7d0e9ebaab814f880b2f53bba47bef4afcd537 stp_remove_install_hooks.patch

JohnMaguire commented on 2018-02-26 15:58

Had to add '/tmp/yaourt-tmp-jmaguire/aur-systemtap/src/stp_remove_install_hooks.patch' to the sources array, and 'SKIP' to the sha512sums array.

Can you update the PKGBUILD?
