Upstream URL is dead. This is the new one: Can you change it when you get a chance please? Also I think ruby-rake is needed in makedepends.

I got errors. (Use the scroll bar to see the whole thing.)

sudo gem install --user-install activerecord
sudo gem install --user-install sqlite3

But I still get:

/usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/lib/sup/config.rb:60:in `load_config': undefined method `fix_encoding!' for "djringjr":String (NoMethodError)
from /usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/bin/sup:13:in `<top (required)>'
from /usr/bin/sup:23:in `load'
from /usr/bin/sup:23:in `<main>'

My user account is djrinigjr.

Any suggestions?

@egils: Try something like this:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/xapian-ruby-1.2.22/lib":$LD_LIBRARY_PATH sup

egils commented on 2017-03-02 05:49

@asch: Might be. $ $LD_LIBRARY_PATH returns nothing thus the path is not set. What should it be? I dont understand what it does and did not find anything on a quick search. Would you be kind to help me set it?

asch commented on 2017-03-01 23:38

@egils: Not true. All dependencies are listed properly. I guess that your LD_LIBRARY_PATH is wrong thus the dependencies errors.

Hi. I just installed Arch on a x86_64 machine. First I noticed that all dependencies were not listed in the PKGBUILD. I installed ruby-sqlite3,
ruby-thread_safe & ruby-activerecord

Then I met this error and got stuck (my username is "egil"):

$ sup
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/lib/sup/config.rb:60:in `load_config': undefined method `fix_encoding!' for "egil":String (NoMethodError)
from /usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/bin/sup:13:in `<top (required)>'
from /usr/bin/sup:22:in `load'
from /usr/bin/sup:22:in `<main>'

this method seems to be widely used in sup according to:!&type=Code&utf8=%E2%9C%93 maybe a dependency is missing?
I guessed from this link that maybe ruby-rest-client was needed and tried installing that to no avail.

Here is my list of gems:

@egils: Done. Thanks.

this package does not work currently on arch because of the recent ruby update. I suggest changing to the fork of quark-zju which has fixed the Fixnum-error issues among others.

@asch: That did the trick! Many thanks for the big help.

asch commented on 2016-03-15 20:34

@lasers: Nope, everything works here. Try to rebuild all ruby dependencies installed from AUR.
