I’m not using this package any longer, orphaning.

Hum sorry, should have recognized that, you’re hit by https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/52234.

Which leads me to thing your Arch system is not up to date (this has been fixed in 2.1.17-3). ;)

Finally got it through gpg --keyserver 18.9.60.141 --recv-keys 3A6A4DB839EAA6D7

Instead of using pgp.mit.edu url to receive key. I don't know what's going on but I believe there was bug on gnupg reported here https://github.com/rvm/rvm/issues/3544

This is weird, since it definitively does work here (and in fact even without the 0x). Are you able to get any key at all? It must be an issue on your side, like GnuPG being misconfigured.

[blah@blurr ~]$ gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 0x3A6A4DB839EAA6D7
gpg: keyserver receive failed: No data
[blah@blurr ~]$ gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys '0x3A6A4DB839EAA6D7'
gpg: keyserver receive failed: No keyserver available

Same error though.

Yes, but your command line is wrong: they key must be preceded by a 0x marker to indicate it’s an hex chain. Try this:
gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 0x3A6A4DB839EAA6D7

gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 3A6A4DB839EAA6D7
gpg: keyserver receive failed: No data

can't import key, are you sure the key is correct?

If you face this:
==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
spectacle-x.y.z.tar.xz ... FAILED (unknown public key 3A6A4DB839EAA6D7)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build spectacle.

Please read this:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg#Signature_checking

Or use the following to build (but doing so means reduced security, you should only do that if you know what you’re doing):
makepkg -s --skippgpcheck
