@bchretien Sorry for not answering for so long. I don't actually use this package anymore, after I realized it won't work with the indigo vision_opencv stack anyway, regardless of which qt you use.

Also, since opencv3 is standard in arch now, I guess the use case for this package is pretty small. I think not forcing qt4 is smarter, so don't change anything. I was basically just confused by the "false" dependency.

@Caopi: actually it seems more complicated than that. Qt4 is currently listed as a dependency since this comes directly from packages.xml. Note that they fixed it for kinetic, since that distribution relies on Qt5 (see here: If we force the use of Qt4, VTK support is disabled (as both vtk and vtk6 are linked with Qt5), and if we choose Qt5, I'm concerned about issues down the line (since the other ROS packages rely on Qt4). Since you're the one relying on that package, what do you recommend?

You listed Qt4 as a dependency, but the current build uses Qt5. I fixed it by adding -DWITH_QT=4, according to

Clarification: This package just installs a complete OpenCV3 in ROS, on top of any installed OpenCV and makes CMake calls to "OpenCV" find 3 first.

Note that you cannot use the vision_opencv stack together with OpenCV3 in the same node, unless you build ROS using an installed OpenCV3 of your own. If you did that, this package is not neccessary.

Also: there won't be any official vision_opencv3 releases for completely installing OpenCV3 parallel to 2 anytime soon:
