I took the installation directory of my intellij-idea-ultimate-edition as an example. If you think /opt would be a better choice I will change it.

Is there a reason the default install location is '/usr/share'? According to the FHS, only architecture-independent data should be stored there. '/opt' seems to be a more natural choice.

Updated to latest version 2017.2

Thanks for the hint Lattyware.
I updated the package to the new version.

Lattyware commented on 2017-09-24 09:33

I flagged the package as out of date thinking 2017.2 had been released, but it was actually only 2017.1.2 - either way the package is out of date, but my comment about "not just EAP versions" doesn't make much sense, so I thought I'd clarify.

There's a pkgrel mismatch in .SRCINFO and PKGBUILD.

Errors should be resolved now.

Sorry guys I'm on vacation at the moment, thus the long response time.

1. There's an invalid checksum on rider.desktop in PKGBUILD
2. I get this when installing with pacaur:
:: rider package(s) failed to install.
:: ensure package version does not mismatch between .SRCINFO and PKGBUILD
:: ensure package name has a VCS suffix if this is a devel package
