Except if 1) you don't use GNOME, or 2) you use TopIcons Plus. :)

But yes, radiotray-ng is probably a better idea.

Gnome seemed to have removed the system tray bar, hence this app is now pointless.

Album art appears to rely on metadata within the stream; according to the debug log output the necessary data (data['homepage']) isn't present (e.g. "{'station': 'Radio Paradise', 'title': 'BeauSoleil - Bamako'}").

I think it's probably better to move towards radioplayer-ng now, though...

This latest update (as awesome as it is being able to drop those old gstreamer0.10 dependencies) broke the Radio Paradise album art being saved to ~/.local/share/radiotray/icon

Updated. Massive props to the Debian developers for the compatibility patches.

@X-Tornado : this package is python2 version (not python3) of radiotray.
Python3 version of radiotray is available with this package :
And this package uses gst package of official repos. So you can use it.
I maintain this python2 package because I have this issue with python3 package (as described by FindMind) :
Tray icon is not available (menu) (but own icon is visible) in Plasma KDE

@X-Tornado :
I did not succeed to replace the 3 dependancies gstreamer0.10-* with the versions in official repos.
I got this error :

[chris@christiane ~]$ radiotray
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/radiotray", line 12, in <module>
OSError: [Errno 2] Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type: '/usr/bin/src'

Any idea ?

Hey, do we really need the aur versions of gstreamer packages (base-plugins,good,...)? The python3 version seems to work fine with the official repos.

@zoe Sure, as a maintainer only you have rights to request deletion. Sometime somebody else can request deletion in the case when package is old or is not maintained anymore.

I re-adopted this package, and hope it will not be deleted again…
