Yep, it was either ffmpeg v3 or any of its dependencies that caused the error. Downgraded to v2.8 and had no trouble building python2-sipsimple and could then upgrade back to ffmpeg v3.1.1 again.

There's a dependency list in the 'docs' folder (./docs/Dependencies.txt), but never mind I post it here:

I've removed python2-sipsimple entirely from my computer, and I've also installed that notorious yaourt.
I could reinstall sipsimple without any friction or hassle.
It's also worth mentioning that the package 'ffmpeg2.8' is installed on my computer. Frankly I don't remember the reason why.
If you suspect that something is wrong with ffmpeg (3.1.1), try ffmpeg2.8, and tell me your experiences.

I'm unable to build this, even with ffmpeg installed. Does the package require ffmpeg v2.x by any chance, as I'm using v3.1.1? The summary of the error I get is:

make[2]: *** [/tmp/yaourt-tmp-xx/aur-python2-sipsimple/src/python-sipsimple-3.0.0/build/temp.linux-x86_64-2.7/pjsip/build/rules.mak:147: output/pjmedia-codec-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/openh264.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [Makefile:165: pjmedia-codec] Error 2

You forget to add `ffmpeg` as dependency and in a pristine build environment gives the following error.

Please add `ffmpeg` as dependecy. Thanks in advance.

I wish I could be more help.
If you find anything suspicious in the PKGBUILD, feel free to notify me.

You can also ask for help here:

Nope. Nothing exotic. I was able to build it on without issue on one of my other arch boxes and transfered to the one that was getting the error.

promike commented on 2016-06-02 13:02

No clue, I can compile it everywhere, though I don't use yaourt.
Do you use some exotic variant of the Archlinux, like Manjaro or Antergos?
