Should be all fixed up now!

While we are at it, the prepare() effects have been committed upstream 14 months ago and can be removed here. I have also deleted the no-op depends+=() in the package() function and replaced the unreachable URL according to @lonaowna's proposal. The result builds fine.

The url field should be updated:

BTW, the 0.6.5 PKGBUILD has removed the dependency on soqt. As a result the won't be built anymore. Is that intentional?

yuyichao commented on 2020-01-31 18:42

There's (hopefully) no binary file in the source. However, the arch in PKGBUILD is also not about the source, otherwise almost every package would be any. Rather it is about the arch of the package built by the PKGBUILD.

The binary file in the package that is arch dependent includes,

/usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/pivy/ /usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/pivy/gui/

ccorn commented on 2020-01-31 18:40

The arch should not be any because the built package contains arch-specific *.so binaries:

$ pacman -Ql python-pivy | grep -F .so
python-pivy /usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/pivy/
python-pivy /usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/pivy/gui/

The glu dependency issue can be found by building with extra-x86_64-build -- (which is a wrapper around tools like makechrootpkg) instead of makepkg.

I've bumped the version here, but I haven't changed the value of arch from any. @ccorn @yuyichao Which binary file in the source is architecture specific?

ccorn commented on 2020-01-31 15:38

Re-building now misses the include file GL/glu.h. I have fixed that by adding the dependency glu as well. And I agree with @yuyichao that arch should include x86_64 and not any.

yuyichao commented on 2019-08-26 01:08

This package contains binary file so I believe the arch should not be any. Should be changed to at least x86_64 instead.
