Thanks for the heads up. I changed the source to the new one.

theokonos commented on 2020-11-18 16:36

It appears the DNS issue has been resolved, FYI. App is opening properly now.

Upstream source still needs to be updated.

theokonos commented on 2020-11-18 14:02

Flagged as out-of-date. Pulse-SMS was sold to Maple Media in late October, so the upstream has changed to their GitHub repo: https://github.com/maplemedia/pulse-sms-desktop

Also, FWIW if anyone is coming here looking for open issues, they are transferring the domain currently so the DNS records are failing and all desktop applications are malfunctioning.

@whight Thank you for your hard work on this package, it is greatly appreciated!

whight commented on 2019-05-11 01:51

@WonderWoofy, Thanks for catching this. I had hurriedly pushed the version bump without testing first. Only got one notification, anyhow.

I went with fixing the permission directly, since there was no easy way to fix this upstream, and I did not want to leave this in a broken state.

WonderWoofy commented on 2019-05-10 04:36

The file /opt/pulse-sms/chrome-sandbox apparently now needs to have permissions set to 4755 (or -rwsr-xr-x in non-octal format).

If anyone else thinks there is a better way to go about this, please feel free to comment. Since this is a repack of a deb, there's no build() to put a chmod into, so I figured this direct 'chmod 4775' was the least intrusive way to modify the permissions of just one file.

(These are simply the permissions indicated were needed in a stderr message when trying to launch from the terminal.)

Edit: Apparently I have no idea how to format comments here! Sorry for the bazillion notifications you probably received whight. :-/

I have decided to maintain this package. While I will try to be diligent about keeping pulse-sms updated, please flag this out of date if it is so.

wilberfan commented on 2018-12-06 02:56

I was using Android Messages for web, but I've found Pulse to be superior. Hope someone adopts this package! It's good stuff...

gfly commented on 2018-10-20 18:42

Since Android Messages for Web has released, I have no need for pulse-sms anymore. If anyone else would like to take over maintenance here, most updates are just bump the version number and update the sha512sum for the new deb file.
