I feel like there's very little benefit to running regular "business logic" tests in check(), if any at all, but it's negligible maintenance overhead :) Added.

Well, all official packages always run check() via devtools for instance. If this package were to become an official package it would certainly help.

Does anyone actually run check() though? I mean, don't get me wrong, seems fine to add it, I have just never actually heard of anyone running check() :p

Pretty good package but you should consider also running the tests in check().
