Latest dev news:
https://www.playonlinux.com/en/news.html

Note:
PlayOnLinux.sh was modified and includes a path to Java 8, allowing non-destructive running of PlayOnLinux5 with default Java not set to Java 8. See: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/java for more. There is not need to force users to set default Java to Java 8 at this time.

There is a Qt version being developed, but it is far from test-ready.

Thank you for the comment. I'll add it to the deps soon.

java-openjfx is required to run, not only to build. I had to install it by hand on the running machine

Hi, I have a test failure, I think? it refuses to install because of it
Here is the error:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-surefire-plugin:2.12.4:test (default-test) on project phoenicis-apps: There are test failures.
[ERROR]
[ERROR] Please refer to /home/jee/Programs/playonlinux5-git/src/playonlinux5/phoenicis-apps/target/surefire-reports for the individual test results.
[ERROR] -> [Help 1]

I checked the individual test results and here's the content of the file where the test fails(there's the stacktrace after this if you want).
[jee@iii playonlinux5-git]$ cat /home/jee/Programs/playonlinux5-git/src/playonlinux5/phoenicis-apps/target/surefire-reports/org.phoenicis.apps.ClasspathRepositoryTest.txt

Having problems installing; errors during tests with JavaFX.

EDIT: issue spontaneously resolved itself on trying to reinstall again, somehow.

pkg lib dir should not be 755 recursive.

SolarAquarion commented on 2017-02-08 02:57

i meant more chmod -r 755 like you did a install m755 or whatever

ProfessorKaos64 commented on 2017-02-08 01:27

The lib dir is created in pkg/ with 0755:

mikeyd@archboxmtd playonlinux5-git $ ls -la /opt/playonlinux5/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 3 20:08 lib

mikeyd@archboxmtd playonlinux5-git $ stat -c "%a %n" * /opt/playonlinux5/lib
755 /opt/playonlinux5/lib

> as in readable by everyone

No, permissions are a triplet of <user><group><other>. 755 is full for user only, read/execute for group/other.

SolarAquarion commented on 2017-02-08 00:10

all the files in /opt/playonlinux5/lib need to be set to 755 as in readable by everyone

Thank you, I will correct those issues tonight.
