Okay, the RC is out for 1.4.0 and this package has been updated for it.

@nubs true. I don't see how this package does any good in it's current state however? This existing package should probably be copied to php5{6,etc}-gnupg and then updated to use the new source for php 7 regardless of being in the official channel or not.

The official pecl channel still has yet to get the update however. Perhaps there should be a php-gnupg-git package for the unreleased version until the PECL package can be updated.

Apparently there is a new release that works with 7.x (not 5.x).

As you can see in the bug report you've linked, the port is partially done.
