I have changed the Ruby dependency to Ruby 1.9, so it's building again.

Compilation currently fails, probably since Ruby is now 2.1.

Finally found and fixed the problem (incorrect compiler flags had been set).

using rbenv with ruby 1.9.3p429 seems to work for me
