Opera stable is availabe for download via http://dl-desktop.oupeng.com/ftp/pub/opera/desktop/26.0.1656.32/linux/

(Oupeng is the name of opera's chinese version)

Anyone want to bring it to AUR?

I find this website also provide opera download:
http://deb.opera.com/opera-developer/pool/non-free/o/opera-developer/

This site is faster in mainland China.

for system ffmpeg support just add:

# add compat symlinks for ffpmeg
ln -sf "/usr/lib/libavcodec.so" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/libavcodec-ffmpeg.so.55"
ln -sf "/usr/lib/libavformat.so" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/libavformat-ffmpeg.so.55"
ln -sf "/usr/lib/libavutil.so" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/libavutil-ffmpeg.so.52"

to the PKGBUILD

the only downside is you need to check the sonames in the binary every time

What is the difference between this package and https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/opera-beta/ ?

For those who updated to ffmpeg 2.4.1 I've created this AUR script http://pastebin.com/5kG7az0s which build ffmpeg 2.3.3 that is required for Opera's HTML5 support.
Just unpack lib folder of built package to /home/my-name/ffmpeg-opera and run Opera from command line with LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/my-name/ffmpeg-opera environment variable. Or add LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/my-name/ffmpeg-opera to /etc/profile file and relogin.

@eworm
Opera's FTP server is extremely slow (usually takes 1-2 hours to download). Please use the official download links in the PKGBUILD instead of the download archive, as @inRocks has suggested (in my case it was a 1 minute download).

Does anyone made Youtube MSE+H.264 working in the latest version?

J5lx commented on 2014-08-20 19:57

I’m downloading Opera from the new URL from germany right now and for me the download is _really_ slow as well… My current speed is 43783 atm, while I normally get about 350k.

@inRocks Thanks! The download is much faster now :-D
