I don’t really see any advantage in doing so here, the tarball is already named (stdio-vX.YY.Z.tar.gz – quite descriptive IMO) and I’m not aware of any requirement for the main source file to be named in a certain way (like on Debian). It would be a different story if it was something like file.php?a=download&f=154a4b976bd1732c0f21b2d89fa460b6&v=235 or similar. Is there any particular reason you’d like the source file to be explicitly named like that? I don’t really want to change this just because of personal taste or something because I like my packages to be consistent and I’d have a lot of packages to adjust in that case.

Please download a named tarball like this
$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz::https://ocaml.janestreet.com/ocaml-core/v$(echo ${pkgver} | grep -Po "^[0-9]+\.[0-9]+│
")/files/stdio-v${pkgver}.tar.gz"
