@reisub0, updated. Try it

@reisub0, you're right. It's mistake in PKGBUILD:

provides=(libnma-indicator-${pkgver}-${pkgrel})

reisub0 commented on 2020-01-04 07:51

Shouldn't this package also provide libnma? Installing switchboard-network-plug from [community] doesn't work as libnma and libnma-indicator are in conflict as this package doesn't provide libnma

The error mentioned xproto which doesn't exist. That's why it took me a while to find xorgproto and the build succeded. What I'm saying is that I had to install xorgproto manually in order for it to work. That's why it should be included as a makedep.

Xproto or xorgproto? Xproto is simply not in repos.

Try installing xorgproto to build network-manager-applet-indicator.

All dependencies, except libappindicator-gtk3, are necessary only for building of network-manager-applet-indicator, including xorg-proto. After building and installation you can remove them all.

I just tried to build the package on a fresh Wayland-based system and the build failed because of missing xproto dependency. It's only a build dependency, so there's no difference from the network-manager-applet package.

@Bonnee

What primary dependency does xorgproto require? In addition, if it is from "makedepends", you can remove it after building and installation.

As I understand it, you are not using an X server. You can try install the basic package from extra(network-manager-applet) and compare what dependencies it will have. The difference between my package and the basic one in exactly one "depends" - libappindicator-gtk3.

You can compare PKGBUILDs: https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/network-manager-applet

The package requires xorgproto as a makedep. It won't build without it

@kris7t

Thank you for that, forgot all about nocheck.
