Hi, the sha sum for Moneydance_linux_amd64.tar.gz is wrong

Notice that Moneydance will work only with version 8 of Java (jre8-openjdk and jre8-openjdk-headless)

almax00 commented on 2016-10-27 19:41

new version out: 2017 build 1584. Please update. Thank you.

plague-doctor commented on 2016-03-16 04:16

Please update to the latest version.
Also, maybe consider to add this line to the startup script:

export _JAVA_OPTIONS='-Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=gasp -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on'

This will fix the ugly JAVA fonts rendering. Sure it can go to the .bashrc, but not everybody is aware of it ;-)

This will allow to install latest version: 2015.1299

Looks like 1229 is available now. Validity check fails.

Moneydance will not start due to java implementation issue. The easiest solution is to install jdk (the one from Oracle) from AUR, and change the default to it with "archlinux-java set java-8-jdk" (as root). Afterwards, Moneydance should work as designed.

I have the same issue where this will not work and just hangs when launched from the Terminal. I went on to the website and used the installation script there (just had to modify the permissions of /etc/.java/.systemprefs to get it to install properly) and after it installed it launched from ~/moneydance fine.
