There is also a syntax error in https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/monero-gui-bin.install?h=monero-gui-bin :

The empty function post_remove() is not allowed in bash. Can you fix that by changing it to:

post_remove() {
    :
}

See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30998558/empty-function-in-bash

Hi. Seems to have one extra } at the end of line 44.

Hi again @darkness - you can see although the name is updated, the actual GUI is still not released (github has it in pre-release with only source code; no built binaries yet). Appreciate the flag, but still not quite ready for update here!

Hi @darkness - thanks for flagging, but it isn't (currently) out of date. The GUI doesn't have a 0.15.0 release yet; that's only the CLI (which this package is not). 0.15.0 source is out, but we use their built packages (hence the -bin on this package name). I'm keeping an eye out for 0.15.0, but please reflag if I don't spot it. Thanks

Hi @rEnr3n - thanks for flagging, but it isn't (currently) out of date. The GUI doesn't have a 0.14.2 release yet; that's only the CLI (which this package is not). Feel free to reflag at the next release!

@intartso - no bother at all :) Glad it's resolved!

@DescartesHorse I just removed it from the cache and redownloaded it and now it works. Sorry to bother you.

Sorry to hear it @intartso - but looks like something is messing around with your downloads. I say this because the hash the PKGBUILD is using is the one listed both on https://web.getmonero.org/downloads/ and on https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/releases which is verified in the signed hashes.txt here: https://web.getmonero.org/downloads/hashes.txt - I've also manually downloaded and checked the checksum from a few different continents with the same result there. Are you downloading this behind a firewall/proxy like at work which may be intercepting SSL? Of course, I am presuming you tried removing the downloaded file and retried the download?

Checksum still doesn't work for me. The actual sha256 of monero-gui-bin-0.14.1.0.tar.bz2 is 66a1b77205a2398197887bfa4d70d4650179ddac9378b26f7df645aa1b566273 but the PKGBUILD is looking for 51739f0472ccbd49832a5828ca1000ebb1ce63b19dd57507b7905739bf8cf238
