Hello, I installed mediathek on 5.4.2-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Dec 5 09:55:57 UTC 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux. The app didn't start. If I try to launch mediathek via terminal I get some more informations, but I don't understand them and also don't know how to react. But maybe the error-text is important for other persons. mediathek Error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: mediathek/Main has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0 at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:756) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:142) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:468) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100(URLClassLoader.java:74) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:369) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:363) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:362) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:418) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:352) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:351) at sun.launcher.LauncherHelper.checkAndLoadMain(LauncherHelper.java:495)

I fixed the issue with this: sudo archlinux-java unset

Then reinstall: sudo pacman -S jre-openjdk

I also get the error message:

Error: Could not find or load main class install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView

I can start the program with the following command:

java -jar /opt/mediathek/MediathekView.jar

Since update the package seems to be broken:

Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=lcd_hrgb Fehler: Hauptklasse install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView konnte nicht gefunden oder geladen werden Ursache: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView

System: archlinux-java status Available Java environments: java-12-openjdk (default) java-8-openjdk

@sisyphos: Simply uninstall old jre-openjdk packages and reinstall most recent jre-openjdk to get Mediathek working again.

does not work any more due to incompatible java: Error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: mediathek/Main has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0 at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:763) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:142) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:468) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100(URLClassLoader.java:74) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:369) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:363) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:362) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:424) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:349) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:357) at sun.launcher.LauncherHelper.checkAndLoadMain(LauncherHelper.java:495)

when i start mediathek now, it is scaled for HiDPI monitor, but i am using a monitor with normal resolution. So the interface is too big (fonts, icons, etc.) This happend with the latest updates to this package from August.

Does anyone know how i can downscale the application interface again?

Please note that Mediathek 13.3.0 now requires Java 11. You may want to uninstall any older Java version.
