I fixed the issue with this: sudo archlinux-java unset
Then reinstall: sudo pacman -S jre-openjdk

I also get the error message:
Error: Could not find or load main class install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView
I can start the program with the following command:
java -jar /opt/mediathek/MediathekView.jar

Since update the package seems to be broken:
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=lcd_hrgb Fehler: Hauptklasse install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView konnte nicht gefunden oder geladen werden Ursache: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: install4j.mediathek.Main_MediathekView

@sisyphos: Simply uninstall old jre-openjdk packages and reinstall most recent jre-openjdk to get Mediathek working again.

when i start mediathek now, it is scaled for HiDPI monitor, but i am using a monitor with normal resolution. So the interface is too big (fonts, icons, etc.) This happend with the latest updates to this package from August.
Does anyone know how i can downscale the application interface again?

Please note that Mediathek 13.3.0 now requires Java 11. You may want to uninstall any older Java version.

haawda: Thanks, fixed.

Dependancy "java-openjfx" should be replaced by "java8-openjfx" after recent update in the repos.

hero: I find that very unlikely, since they are coming from the same source as the PKGBUILD (which has no checksum), but I have added them anyway … doesn't hurt.
