Just published an updated version. Please let me know if you have any issues. There seems to be no requirement for a specific Java version/vendor anymore (as long as it's at least Java 11). So I relaxed the dependency.

I cannot fully test this application anymore because I'm not anymore enrolled at a university in Munich. If you or anyone who reads this wants to take over, just contact me. :)

Hi there, since a couple of days an update is available. Is there any chance that the aur-package will be updated? Or is there a way to integrate the update? Thanks!

It kind of already works: after choosing the institution using xorg, I switched back to Wayland to check and it worked. It seems like it's really only the drop-down that causes problems. So in case you really have to combine lrz-syncshare with Wayland, configuring it with xorg and then go back to Wayland is a possible (admittedly, not a nice) way.

That's great! You're welcome. I hope these sort of issues with Wayland will eventually subside. It's about time...

@shador: It works! Thanks for your help! After all, switching from Wayland to Xorg did the job. jre8 is installed correctly and up to date. lrz-syncshare is up to date (version 15.5.100.28). After logging out and running Gnome with Xorg, lrz-syncshare works. No more crashes after I hit the button to choose the institution. Thanks again!

@whyrhd Sorry, for replying just now... Did you already solve it?

I'm not sure, why you're getting that. The issue you describe I'm not getting when I choose an institution. You could check the following:

  1. Do you have Oracle Java installed? Seems so. The package looks in /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-jre/jre/bin/java for it as provided by the jre8 AUR package.

  2. Is the jre8 package correctly installed and up-to-date?

  3. What version of lrz-syncshare is installed? Please check the console output of the lrz-syncshare command.

I also just saw there's a new version of the LRZ Sync & Share client available. I'll try to publish that soon. You could also try that.

Otherwise it may also be an issue not directly related to the LRZ Sync & Share client. Here's somebody with a very similar issue (keywords: segfault libawt_xawt ReadRegionsInList): https://github.com/fiji/3D_Viewer/issues/21

Are you using Wayland? Because in that GitHub issue that seems to be the cause. I'm running Xorg.

Whenever I try to choose an institution, I get the following error:

A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007f76dc9d48e1, pid=10616, tid=0x00007f76c7dfd640
JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_261-b12) (build 1.8.0_261-b12)

Problematic frame:
C [libawt_xawt.so+0x468e1] ReadRegionsInList.constprop.5+0x671

Can anyone help?

Followed upstream revert to version 11.7.754. Did not bump pkgrel because the PKGBUILD is identical to the previous one for 11.7.754. If you actually want to downgrade, you might have to trigger it explicitly, because the epoch is also unchanged.

Version bumped, checksum updated. Thanks, TheGiwi.

Hi there,

it looks like the checksums are out of sync as the validity checks cannot be passed.

Many thanks!
