Unfortunately there is no alternative on Linux with a graphical interface (not webgui).

You should probably not use a program that was last updated in 2011

When installing lottanzb on Xfce Manjaro, this (German) error comes up: Kann Abhängigkeiten nicht erfüllen: - nicht vorhandene Abhängigkeit 'python2-dbus' benötigt von lottanzb

English translation: Cannot fulfill dependencies: - Not existing dependency 'python2-dbus' needed by lottanzb

Does the AUR must be fixed?

Edit: I did end up getting it going mostly though it was weird. Last night I had uninstalled all packages for sabnzbd and lottanzb and reinstalled with the same failure result. Tonight I did it and it worked with the diff being tonight I installed lotta first then sabnzb instead of the other way around.

First I've had some nzb files just error out but some have worked. They work on another computer that I have not upgraded sabnzbd on yet. Also I noticed if I try and edit the server preferences it says sabnzbd 2.3.9 is not supported yet.

So basically I removed lottanzb, sabnzb, ran pacman -Rns $(pacman -Qtdq), installed lottanzb, then sabnzb. After that

SABnzbd just had an update (1/1/2020) and since that was updated, LottaNZB hasn't worked. The first issue seemed to be that it was calling /usr/bin/sabnzbd but after the sabnzbd update, that file no longer existed. During that, it would say it couldn't find the program.

I took a copy of that file from a backup and put it back in /usr/bin/ and then it opens and complains about an API key. Hitting OK just notes the invalid key over and over. Cancel just closes LottaNZB.

I went to what I think is the necessary config file, ~/.config/lottanzb/lottanzb.conf and pasted the API key from SABnzbd in the api_key variable but then lotta just crashes after a few moments

So, I am lost on what to do now, or if the package needs to be updated

I tested it and it worked for me, but since ${startdir}/pkg is wrong and some optional dependencies were incorrect I updated the PKGBUILD :) Thanks!

The package that is created contains nothing.

Modifies the PKGBUILD and change

python2 install --packaging-mode --root=${startdir}/pkg --prefix=/usr

python2 install --packaging-mode --root=${pkgdir} --prefix=/usr

Please update dependencies:

dbus-python -> python2-dbus,
python-configobj -> python2-configobj,

I even put a nice warning to the install:

>> If you want to use this for downloading to this machine,
>> you must install sabnzbd!!!

GERGE commented on 2011-11-18 18:29

I did read it. Apparently you did not:

You don’t need SABnzbd if you only want to manage the downloads of another computer.

It is a SABnzbd+ GUI front-end. SABnzbd+ doesn't need to be installed for it to work.

lottanzb is a GUI front end for SABnzbd, it is required to make lottanzb work.

Unless someone has some how hacked this version to work on it's own, which I doubt.
