the author makes a huge secret of it, but this is the purpose of the package:

sudo ./lkvm run --disk ./linuximg --kernel ./bzImage --network virtio

will lauch a Linuxkernel-based virtual machine running another Linux (inside your real Linux).

So its a lighweight QEMU or vBox with a nonsensical name and no documentation on github, as if everyone is obliged to know it all beforehand.

Native Linux KVM tool offers: - Experimental GUI support using SDL and VNC

  • SMP support. tools/kvm/ now has a highly scalable, largely lockless driver interface and the individual drivers are using finegrained locks.

  • TAP-based virtio networking

  • Fast QCOW2 image read-write support beating Qemu in fio benchmarks. See the following URL for test result details:

  • Virtio-9p support for host filesystem access in guests

  • Virtio Random Number Generator

  • Host block devices as in-memory copy-on-write guest images on 64-bit hosts

So we still don't know WTF it does, but now we know more unknown abbreviations.

" kvm tools integrated in the Linux source tree" has ZERO explanatory value, can't you see ?? WTF does this "tool" do ? Just sit there and burn cycles ?

g99 commented on 2019-04-07 11:52

for proper documentation, see

this fork, however, is documented so sloppily and has not been updated for 4+ years, it should be removed from AUR. It's just noise and chaff.

That mean kvm tools integrated in the Linux source tree.

If could find relevant information on LKML or on linux press like

Project looks dead but why are you talking of backdoor?

g99 commented on 2019-04-07 11:44

"Native Linux KVM tool" WTF does that mean? Even after 30 clicks there is no way of knowing. Documentation this sloppy should have no place in AUR. May well be backdoored.

The PKGBuild doesn't follow the latest guidelines for vcs packages (and maybe the category should be set)
