Hey @david0, build failed. No folder to build

Hey @david0, sorry, actually I've modified the PKGBUILD to compile using the "stable" source code instead of the pre-compiled binaries, I've updated the link: I've asked some more experienced Arch users and they told me this was the correct way to do it. Currently the PKGBUILD is published as "linvst-stable", if you're OK asking for renaming your package, I'll then update mine (if not, no problem!), thanks!

Hi @Sangeppato, ok for me. But I would suggest that your package should be named linvst-bin for consistency then. After you created your package, I will ask for renaming this one to linvst-git.

Btw we changed this package from binary to source some time ago:

Hey @david0, I've made a PKGBUILD that uses the source from the stable releases available here: (See my PKGBUILD here: Would it be ok for you to rename your package to linvst-git (which would be more corrent) to allow me to submit my PKGBUILD as a "stable" version?

Is this package supposed to be a release or git package? There actually is a release available on github. Better to use the tarball as a source? Please adjust it properly!

curl '' | sha256sum

This gives the SHA-256 checksum of the new VST SDK to put in the PKGBUILD.

i am getting the following error:

==> Validating source files with sha256sums...

==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

One of the URLs in the current build file 404s. You can replace it by:

@teetest Yes, I know how to use it already. I just think it would be better if it installed to a different directory and I can just copy it for the plugins I have without having to remove it from the VST directory.

@net147 To use LinVst, the file simply needs to be renamed to match the windows vst dll's filename.

(the .so and .dll extensions are left as they are and are not part of the renaming)

Both the windows vst dll file and the renamed file are then a matched pair and need to be kept together in the same directory/folder.

you should check "readme" from
