@s-ol I guess symlinkg the binary can be a fair solution, I've been doing it in several pkgbuilds; especially those for programs made for Elementary OS which use Reverse Domain Name Notation

ln -s /usr/bin/KodeLife "$pkgdir/usr/bin/kodelife"

@Distag, is there a guideline somewhere for this?

As a maintainer I think I should keep my personal opinion out of it whenever possible, especially when there is either an archlinux guideline or upstream opinion. In this case I don't know of a guideline, so I would rather stay true to the upstream package, which calls the binary KodeLife, rather than add my own opinion into the mix.

Hi, thank you for this package.

It will be better if you could rename package binary without Uppercase in /usr/bin/, plz

@jpgrandi: updated to 0.5.4, works fine for me again now.

@FabioLolix you are right about source, pkgdesc and url (although the second two are not mandatory), but license is set to unknown because the author doesn't provide a license text (only a disclaimer). This is according to the guidelines https://git.archlinux.org/pacman.git/tree/proto/PKGBUILD.proto

This is only a repackage of the authors binary distribution. I haven't audited the provided binary.

I updated the package with additional dependencies, but namcap misdetects the libcurl-gnutls dependency still. The sha256sums are working fine.

Thank you for your feedback. I however doubt that my laziness in committing a community package created to integrate a single binary into my package manager is indicative of the status of the AUR as a whole and I think comments like that are best kept to oneself...

Hello, this pkgbuild is missing description, url and license

sha256sums=() is wrong

A '$' is missing in source=()

There is an insecure RPATH in the binary and dependecy detected by namcap are not included

No wonder if people complain about low quality packages in the AUR..
