Anyone would like to notice upstream about this (jellyfin-bin) package? Because it's not listed in their instructions: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/administration/installing.html#arch-linux

Looks like I have to learn C# if this baby jellyfin should fly some when :-).

Thanks for your great work @erkexzcx

Jellyfin software is full of "surprises". :)

Rolled back to 10.5.0 to get rid of out-of-date flag.

https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/releases/tag/v10.5.1 It looks like they intentionally removed the 10.5.1 release due to build issues on their end. Probably best to just keep the PKGBUILD using 10.5.0 until a follow-up release.

https://repo.jellyfin.org/releases/server/debian/versions/ is such a mess. At first they forgot to change version numbers visible in binary name (see this pkgbuild sources). Now they completely removed latest version from their repos...

Hey @artodeto,

I will continue to maintain this package.

Regarding performance - it's not about waiting for library to sync. It's about waiting until web page loads. Just gave it a test and it took a freaking 61sec to load. For a freaking web page, index page....

Hey @erkexzcx,

thanks for your incredible quick command. I was able to solve the issue by removing any kind of directory matching the pattern jellyfi* on my filesystem after the uninstall, followed by a fresh install of your jellyfin-bin.

Currently, it is still building the library of files. I tried emby upfront but wanted to give the true open source version a try. Even on emby, it took my system more than a day to finish the library so I am patiente with it.

I am a simple "just want to stream music in my local network" user right now but thanks for warning me.

Cheers and thank you for providing this working package. Do you have any plans to continue building and updating it or are you pissed that much that this was your one and only tryout?

Hey @artodeto,

This looks like a bug. Note that this binary package has dotnet runtime included, which is also being used. This points us to the issue with jellyfin itself and not dotnet/arch linux, so bug report in upstream seems to be just right.

Myself I am having only negative experience with Jellyfin. Everything is SUPER SLOW on RPI4. Library scan is taking hours. Kodi addon is not able to sync anything, because it is timing-out..? On paper, Jellyfin seems to be a great software, but such shitty (no joking) performance is killing it...
