I made the following modifications and was able to successfully install this package:

# Maintainer: Bruno Filipe <>
pkgdesc="ROCm Platform Runtime: Closed source components"

package() {
        cd "$srcdir"
        tar xf data.tar.gz

        mkdir -p ${pkgdir}/usr/lib

        cp -ax opt/rocm/hsa/lib/* ${pkgdir}/usr/lib

The .deb file has been updated and is now "hsa-ext-rocr-dev_1.1.9.0-rocm-rel-3.0-6-7128d0d_amd64.deb".

Will unfortunately disown this for now if someone wants to make this work. I'm still figuring out a good Arch way to port ROCM Experimental install scripts, they're still doing a few unconventional things with paths.

Adopted and updated, now I'll look at the other rocm stuff.

I'm building all new rocm packages locally, need to figure out a couple of issues but if it works well I'll adopt this and the others needed.

I'm sorry, I've no means to build and test that stuff at the moment. I disowned the rocm packages, in case someone would like to fill the gap.

Aside from the update to 1.9 the internal structure of the deb has changed. There's no bin folder

The URL changed again.
