Package is up to date. Upstream is simply not working on it anymore, which is quite different.

Do NOT flag it as out of date unless a new tag is available upstream. Thank you.

As an anonymous user pointed out, you should probably use raccoon which is more actively developed.

Here is a PKGBUILD for the version 1.7:

I don't think, you should ask to the developer.

Is there any way to run this via CLI? I want to be able to search for updates to my apk's via cron.

Yamakaky commented on 2015-02-11 19:01

1.7 is marked as planned and not released, I don't know what it means. + launch fail, no file "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/googleplaydownloader/googleplaydownloader/version.txt". Any suggestion ?

Done !

I had a quick chat on #archlinux-pacman and Bluewind proposed to use:

gendesk -f \
--pkgname="$pkgname" \

In this case there is no need to access the PKGBUILD at all.

Ram-Z commented on 2015-01-21 13:09

hm... I've always seen it as `$startdir/{src,pkg}` being deprecated. This seems like a legitimate usecase for `$startdir`.

`gendisk` fails because it assumes that the PKGBUILD is located at `$srcdir/..` which is not the case when BUILDDIR is set, same as `$startdir/src` != `$srcdir` in this case.

Yamakaky commented on 2015-01-21 11:30

$startdir seems depreciated, see PKGBUILD(5). Maybe if I add the PKGBUILD to the source array ?

Ram-Z commented on 2015-01-19 15:23

`gendesk -f` will fail if `BUILDDIR` is set in `/ect/makepkg.conf`. Please use this instead:
gendesk -f "$startdir"/PKGBUILD

What are you talking about noobs,of course you cant always use the default gshit account, anyone could change the password.
Just make one for yourself and it stays on even after update. Also dont forget to change android id because the previous would be blocked and it requires having java. You can also change the defqault lang ex en_UK
