local/gettext 0.19.8.1-3 (base base-devel) GNU internationalization library

gettext is in the base package group and is assumed to be installed on all Arch installations. Packages in base are never included as dependencies.

I had to add 'gettext' as a build dependency, otherwise I was getting this error: po/meson.build:1:5: ERROR: Can not do gettext because xgettext is not installed.

I'm using fedora (Fedora Everything, minimal install) mainly for work without gnome-control-center nothing breaks. However gnome-control-center also comes with cheese.

I run gnome-control-center so I can't really be sure of what would break without doing some testing. I think it uses that to interface with your Google Calendar using gnome-online-accounts.

Last time I checked gnome-control-center is also unnecessary for this package
