When trying to run gerbera (after following all the steps indicated by the package), the web interface doesn't work: there is a weird blue area appearing at the bottom of the screen, with an exclamation mark followed by a "{" character.

As I'm no web developper, I have no idea what's going wrong. This is on an ARM server, by the way. There is no error in the system journal...

Anyone has an idea ?

@francoism90 thx for your feedback. I have added most of your changes. MySQL is now an optional dependency and there is a separate cmake line in the PKGBUILD that needs to be uncommented to build with MySQL support.

This PKG doesn't work at all for me, and I would change the following things:

  • Do not compile with MySQL by default - this breaks compiling on non MariaDB installs
  • Make sure permissions and folders are correct setup
  • Don't overrule the systemd package - this is already build by default.

See my PKG here:

The fresh versions now includes @ElNick's sed line and i added mysql as there is a service file for it as well. There are a bunch of other options but i did not want to add a lot of dependencies if they are not really needed by anybody. @maderios build line adds ffmpegthumbnailer and ffmpeg to the dependencies which is most likely ok for most people but did not want to overdo on my first commit to that package ;)

If you build libupnp18 with --enable-reuseaddr flag you no longer have gerbera using a different port on restart of the service.

thx to @sergej for adding me as co-maintainer

Compiled fine, but when loading gerbera:

gerbera: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have installed I created a link to this library and it worked.

@ElNick suggestion solves the compiling issue related to libupnp. Thank you

Error "missing: UPNP_UPNP_LIBRARY UPNP_INCLUDE_DIR" can be fixed by editing cmake/FindLibUpnp.cmake file and change the pkg_check_modules line to:

pkg_check_modules (PC_UPNP libupnp-1.8)

Then it compiles fine with libupnp installed from AUR. I suggest adding to PKGBUILD in the build section this hotfix:

sed -i 's/libupnp-1.8 libupnp/libupnp-1.8/g' cmake/FindLibUpnp.cmake

@wean If running Arch, Gerbera compiles fine.

My server didn't have any version of libupnp installed on it. This package pulled 1.8.3 and built it, but this package kept failing to build just as Sergey_Aka was saying it failed. After spending an ungodly amount of time reaching around my ass to scratch my ear, I went and also installed libupnp-1.6. Built just fine afterwards.

By the way, thank you for hosting this. I was a HUGE fan of MediaTomb back in the day.
