I have disowned this package. Somebody is welcome to take over as the package maintainer.

For those who do not want to downgrade mono, I have published a binary version of fsharp ( I use the official Ubuntu 18.04 builds for that.

Of course, building from source is still recommended.

Can confirm that downgrading to Mono 5.20 allows fsharp to be built. Thanks @loures

Would be nice to get a more long term solution going where its able to build off the latest release though.

I have the same error as GRS as well. Clean Arch Linux build, cant use MonoDevelop currently :/

Kind regards KingEldarion

I think it's an issue with Mono 6.0, the build works fine with Mono 5.20.

@GRS I can confirm that this fails with the same errors on my system, and in a clean chroot.

This is failing to build and as a result, is preventing monodevelop also being built.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks @brettgilio.

How odd.

I am rather suspicious as a lot of the tools from Xamarin and other mono projects seem to be rather slack with their updates as of late since Microsoft bought them out.

brettgilio commented on 2019-05-06 03:13

@doctorzeus The 10 series are a special build. I am waiting for them to tag 4.6.0 which was released about a month ago but has not been bundled for whatever reason.
