If you manually download the .tar.bz2 and .tar.bz2.sig from sourceforge you can change line 27 of PKGBUILD to source=(freetype-${pkgver}.tar.bz2{,.sig} and it will build. (I had to skip PGP check, though.)

I get the same host resolution issue as @Kabir. I was able to download it at https://sourceforge.net/projects/freetype/files/freetype2/2.10.0/

What's the correct lib32-freetype2-? aur to install alongside this, to prevent different rendering between 32bit and 64bit programs? My primary concern here was Steam.

@jadenPete It still isn't working for me. I can get other programs on AUR without any problem, so I don't know what to make of this error. What do you think?

jadenPete commented on 2019-06-14 18:37

@Kabir It works for me, I guess the server must have been down temporarily or there was a problem with your connection. Does it work for you now?

Kabir commented on 2019-06-14 13:06

Hi, I'm unable to update the package. 0Warning: Transient problem: timeout Will retry in 3 seconds. 1 retries left. 0curl: (6) Could not resolve host: download-mirror.savannah.gnu.org ERROR: Failure while downloading https://download-mirror.savannah.gnu.org/releases/freetype/freetype-2.10.0.tar.bz2 Aborting...

How do I resolve this? Is the server down?

@megapro17 Are you using aurman as well?

megapro17 commented on 2019-03-28 12:51

I'am also getting this error, on freshly installed manjaro

jadenPete commented on 2019-03-20 23:43

@DuBistKomisch This seems like a problem with aurman, since I have yay installed and I get no errors with that, or makepkg as you described.

DuBistKomisch commented on 2019-03-20 23:33

@jadenPete sorry, I just mean with the snapshot and makepkg -i, as opposed to using the aurman helper
