The only reason to flag this package out of date is if there are issues during a build, or if the PKGBUILD can be improved.

@argymeg: I've got a private repository that automatically builds updated versions of Nightly when an update is detected. This is the simplest way of performing the check.

@cyano: Thanks for the bugfix. Implemented! :)

@argymeg Firefox nightly has 2 builds every day. Identifying filename with date only will prevent downloading the 2nd one if you have built the 1st one already.

@cyano: Interesting. Looks like it's an intentional change ( so this change should probably be incorporated into the PKGBUILD.

At the risk of making a fool of myself for asking, is there a reason for the increased complexity of this PKGBUILD, compared to firefox-nightly or, perhaps more relevant, firefox-nightly-de?

@argymeg Array initialisation seems to be changed in Bash 5.1. Not sure whether it is a bug or not.

The following code yields “hello hello” in 5.0 but “hello” in 5.1:

declare -A dict
dict=([str]=hello [str2]=${dict[str]})
echo ${dict[@]}

To fix this problem, modify _build_id initialisation code (line 18—29):

_build_id_raw="$(curl -s "${_base_url}/latest-mozilla-central-l10n/${_name}-${_version}.${_lang}.linux-${CARCH}.checksums" | grep '.partial.mar' | cut -d' ' -f4 | grep -E -o '[[:digit:]]{14}' | sort | tail -n1)"
declare -A _build_id

This is currently failing to build for me.

Run gpg --keyserver --recv-keys 14F26682D0916CDD81E37B6D61B7B526D98F0353, or pass --skippgpcheck to makepkg.

While trying to make this package, I get the following error:

==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg... 20200720-094507-firefox-80.0a1.en-GB.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 ... FAILED (unknown public key F1A6668FBB7D572E) ==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!

Can you post the the public gpg key please, so that I can verify?

Another possibility is to replace the _version line with this:

_version=$(curl -s ${_base_url}/latest-mozilla-central-l10n/ | grep "${_lang}.linux-${CARCH}.checksums" | sort | tail -n 1 | sed "s/^.*>firefox-//; s/\.${_lang}.*//")

@cyano thanks for the responding despite adverse circumstances. Best hopes to you
