The only reason to flag this package out of date is if there are issues during a build, or if the PKGBUILD can be improved.

You need to update Mozilla's key in your keychain so that the new subkey is imported.

I’m not familiar with how keys IDs and subkeys work, but what I observe is that I can’t build this without skipping integrity checks:

==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
    20210606-214208-firefox-91.0a1.en-GB.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 ... FAILED (unknown public key EBE41E90F6F12F6D)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!

The key ID is still the same. No update is necessary.

@grawlinson, I can confirm that the new key is legit per this Mozilla blog post

https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2021/06/02/updating-gpg-key-for-signing-firefox-releases/

I'll update the package once I find an official source for the updated key. I'm not going to trust a random post on the internet.

I posted on reddit and someone thankfully told the new subkey gpg --keyserver hkps://keys.openpgp.org --recv-keys 14F26682D0916CDD81E37B6D61B7B526D98F0353

Getting the following error:

Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
    20210526-211756-firefox-90.0a1.en-GB.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 ... FAILED (unknown public key EBE41E90F6F12F6D)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
Failed to build firefox-nightly-en-gb

Has there been change in mozilla's public key?

grawlinson commented on 2020-12-15 02:53

@argymeg: I've got a private repository that automatically builds updated versions of Nightly when an update is detected. This is the simplest way of performing the check.

@cyano: Thanks for the bugfix. Implemented! :)

cyano commented on 2020-12-14 09:29

@argymeg Firefox nightly has 2 builds every day. Identifying filename with date only will prevent downloading the 2nd one if you have built the 1st one already.

argymeg commented on 2020-12-14 08:58

@cyano: Interesting. Looks like it's an intentional change (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1942964) so this change should probably be incorporated into the PKGBUILD.

At the risk of making a fool of myself for asking, is there a reason for the increased complexity of this PKGBUILD, compared to firefox-nightly or, perhaps more relevant, firefox-nightly-de?
