Thanks @springer, I updated the package to use that fork.

This fork here works for me with the current evolution 3.30.4:

Unfortunately, it doesn't work on Evolution 3.30.2. It makes Evolution run in background when closed yet no new mail notifications are displayed. Closing produces a lot of gjs errors (Nov 14 03:40:03 joasis gjs[1401]: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed).

It seems to be random. Sometimes the mail icon shows on Evolution startup, sometimes it doesn't. I found what happened now is when booting with the latest LTS kernel, the icon shows, while when booting with the latest kernel (non-LTS), the icon does not show.

@acidrain42 All done. THX a lot.

acidrain42 commented on 2018-07-18 17:51

@houbaron Should be fixed now

houbaron commented on 2018-07-18 13:26

could not satisfy dependencies:
unable to satisfy dependency 'pkgconfig>=0.14.0' required by evolution-on-git

But my pkgconf's version is 1.5.1-1.

If you are using gnome,you need to install topicons plus (gnome shell extension) to get icon to show up. This plugin makes my evolution perfect.I have find this plugin for a lot of time.I want to give guys a lot of stars if i can.

Updated to latest versions and now it crashes after opening. Needed to remove this to get it working
