@Rickay as far as I can see that's what we already have!

Exec=env LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libfreetype.so --unset=XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP --unset=DESKTOP_SESSION --unset=GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID vblank_mode=0 /opt/dassault-systemes/DraftSight/Linux/DraftSight %U

I use Manjaro, to be able to use Draftsight,I had to modify the launcher to add the path "/opt/dassault-systemes/DraftSight/Linux" as Working Directory

I was also able to run Draftsight from the /opt/dassault-systemes/DraftSight/Linux folder but some things still do not work such as EXPORTPDF.

I found a way around the "Failed to load modules." error.

If you simply run the ./DraftSight binary while in the /opt/dassault-systemes/DraftSight/Linux folder everything appears to work fine.

cd /opt/dassault-systemes/DraftSight/Linux/ && ./DraftSight

Library load path just uses local dir maybe?

Hmm yeah, could be. But it also says FAQ:

I’m a Mac or Linux user, can I use DraftSight 2019?

DraftSight 2019 SP0 will be offered only as a Beta version for Mac and Linux that includes all the features in DraftSight Standard. These Beta versions will expire on 12/31/2019 and are not available for purchase at this time.

So it should at least be working until the end of the year...

WoW that's crap ! Now we (re)start from beginning to have a proper tool working on Linux

Maybe related:

«DraftSight 2019 for Windows® is offered in paid versions only. Once you download and install DraftSight 2019 (free 30-day trial or purchased version), you will no longer be able to re-download or access any previous free version of DraftSight (2018 or earlier). All free versions of DraftSight (2018 or earlier) will cease to run after 12/31/2019.»

I haven't got much experience with all that. But I installed Kubuntu LTS on a VirtualBox and tried to install Draftsight there. It works well there.

I used the ldd command to try to figure out if something is missing on my Arch installation. There are quite a few differences however and I'm not sure how to proceed...

In case anyone can figure that out I uploaded both outputs here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jk78cnw012mv150/Draftsight_ldd.csv?dl=1

@oberon2007 I've tested on Cinnamon and on Cinnamon with software rendering and I get the same "Failed to load modules." Any ideas?

Bummer "Failed to load modules"
